Jenolan Caves Plughole Caving Experience

Main Description
The plughole experience provides a comprehensive introduction to adventure caving. You will abseil 10 meters into the Elder Cave which was the first dark cave to be entered at Jenolan in 1848. The cave includes several large chambers, fine crystal and many historical signatures preserved from the 1800's. You will slowly descend down to around 100 meters below ground, along the way exploring roomy cavers and snaking through narrow tunnels, before exiting through the Imperial cave.
This experience allows you to connect with the awesome world below the earth's surface.

Venue:
Jenolan Caves, 3 hours drive West of Sydney CBD or 1hour 20 minutes West of Katoomba
Session Length
The experience runs for 2.25 hours, its run 7 days a week (excluded Christmas Day) and starts at 1.15pm
Guidelines:
Moderate fitness required, maximum weight is 150kg, minimum age is 10.
Numbers:
There will be a minimum of 3 people on the tour and a maximum of 12.
Spectators:
Spectators can see you at both the entry and exit points.
Weather:
This experience is not affected by the weather

Very enjoyable experience.

Very fun tour with excellent guides, but an absolute beginners-level caving experience. Pays to go with an adventurous spirit and if you're quite fit, a bit of patience... Don't forget to wear trousers, singlet/cool top and closed, sturdy shoes - overalls are provided, but it pays to wear something comfortable underneath!

A great introductory lesson into caving with some very tight squeezes! The abseil was also fun!
