Main Description
Based at Kangaroo Point, Story Bridge Adventure Climb (SBAC) is one of only three such experiences in the world and is a ‘must do’ on a visit to Brisbane.
The exhilarating journey leads to an 80 metre summit, where climbers enjoy spectacular 360° views of Brisbane and its surrounds.
The picturesque Glasshouse Mountains are visible to the north, with the world-heritage listed Lamington National Park to the south. To the east, climbers enjoy views of Moreton Bay Islands, and to the west, Mt Coot-tha and the lush Brisbane Forest Park can be seen.
the Climb Over Brisbane's Story Bridge is an idyllic way to view Brisbane whatever the occasion. Watch Brisbane come to life on a dawn climb or why not enjoy a twilight climb as the sun sets and the city lights up.
Climbs are led by an experienced climb leader who provides fascinating commentary about the history and heritage of both the bridge and city surrounding them.
The climb takes approximately two-and-a-half hours to complete, which includes a safety briefing, climb simulator, suiting up and of course, the climb itself. Please note you will be given a blood alcohol test for safety reasons, so no pre-drinks!
This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
Venue:
Brisbane, Queensland.
Session Length
Daytime, twilight or night climbs are available every day (except Mondays in winter), the experience is 2.5 hours in duration (closed Christmas Day and 3 days during the River Fire Festival in Sept). Dawn climbs are available on Saturdays only. Please book 2-3 weeks in advance for weekend bookings.
Guidelines:
You must be 10 years of age or older to climb, (children 10-16 years must be accompanied by an adult). We also have a minimum height requirement of 130cm. Anyone with a moderate fitness level will enjoy this experience. This experience is not suitable for people with walking disabilities.
Numbers:
You will be climbing with a group of up to 12 climbers and each group is under the control of an experienced climb leader who will provide commentary along the way.
Spectators:
There are a number of bistros & bars in the local area as well as some nice walks around the river precinct for family and friends to enjoy whilst waiting for you to return from your climb.
Weather:
Climbs go ahead in all weather conditions (except during lightening, hailstorms & severe winds). If your departure time coincides with a passing storm, the group will be held until the storm passes and the climb will then depart.
Other Info:
You will be required to sign an indemnity form and undergo a blood-alcohol test prior to your climb. If you fail this test you will be refused entry and you will not be refunded. (Maximum blood-alcohol reading is 0.05%).

It's great. You start to think you are spending a lot of time indoors but you do get plenty of time on the bridge. Kudos to the guy who took our 5:40 climb, he is very good at telling you what to expect, what to do and how to do it. I admire the safety processes (ie. they radio in).. They have a good system. Guide also efficient and professional. I asked a question, he didn't know answer but he had answer within 10 min.

The bridge climb was fantastic - organised very well by people who obviously know their job and love it. There was no hard sell for photos or mementoes which actually made everyone more likely to buy. The beauty of the sunrise seen from on top of the bridge is something I'll never forget.

I would do it again! I was on a "high" once I had finished as I have a fear of heights and being in a group helped this. The commentary from your tour guide took my mind off my fears!
