Learn the Art of Four Wheel Driving, not the hype! During this 4WD training course our enthusiastic instructors will teach you how to get the best out of your 4WD vehicle. At our training venue you will learn the driving skills to successfully drive your vehicle off road!

At the beginning of your 4WD off-road training course you will explore your four wheel drive vehicle, gaining knowledge about its systems and their correct use. Next is terrain assessment – or how to ‘read’ the obstacle and assess the best and safest path for your vehicle.

Stepping behind the wheel of your vehicle, you cover driving techniques – including stall recovery techniques, ascents and descents, ruts, gullies and ditches, rocks and water crossings. Learn the essentials of wheel placement, throttle control and much more!

The small size of our groups means that you are guaranteed to spend lots of time behind the wheel and with our highly qualified instructors. We have both male and female instructors, with more than 90 years of combined off-road experience between our principle instructors alone!

If your vehicle is equipped with electronic traction aids you will be familiarised with their operation and the specific driving techniques for the various terrain types.

Your 4WD training course takes place at our training venue which is located in the Southern Highlands, south of Sydney.

The course is fully catered, with superior morning teas and lunches, offering a wide variety for all dietary preferences. A detailed information package is provided to participants on confirmation of their booking.

Our 4WD training venue is located in Mittagong, NSW.

Session Length

This experience is available all year round by demand and is subject to availability. You should book at least 4 – 6 weeks in advance. Your 4WD course will commence at 8.30am and conclude at approximately 4.30pm.

Guidelines:

You must hold a current driver’s license and supply your own 4WD vehicle, equipped with low range. Vehicles must be registered, roadworthy, in good mechanical condition with tyres that have tread depth considered legal.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. You may share a vehicle between two people however both participants must pay full price. A minimum of four participants and a maximum of eight participants are accommodated in one session.

Weather:

We promote responsible four wheel driving, as such this experience may be affected by the weather. In the case of poor weather conditions we will reschedule your experience for an alternative date.

Other Info:

Our instructors are some of the most highly qualified and experienced in Australia. You will be required to fill out an enrolment form at the beginning of the day and a short evaluation when you finish your experience. You will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.
