Join us for an interpretive 4WD journey to the Warren National Park. Discover the largest inland land-locked sand dune system this side of the equator, the giant Karri forests and the native fauna that calls this part of the world home. Sit back, relax and let us amaze you in the comfort of our 4WD!
This Eco Accredited tour takes you through an interpretive journey to the Warren National Park to dicover the old growth, giant Karri forest hiding amongst seemingly impenetrable bush trails. You’ll also see the largest inland land-locked dune system in the Southern Hemisphere and drive on one of our South-West Australian endless beaches. You’ll visit wild oceans and touch towering Karri trees. Sit back, relax and let us amaze you on a journey of discovery in the comfort of our 4WD!
During the tour, you’ll see native fauna and your guide will reveal tales of Aboriginal history, early pioneering settlers and even drive down some of their early horse drawn trails.
On entering the D'Entrecasteaux National Park, we stop and give you time to stretch your legs on the banks of a lake, before traversing the sandy tracks to the giant wall of sand; it is inevitable the predominantly westerly winds will eventually cover the forest with sand. Together we ascend the dunes and experience the wonder of the Yeagarup sand dune system.
Driving through this pristine dune area, your guide will stop so you can take in those memorable picture post card views. For the young and young at heart, ‘Sand Angels’ are a must! You can even help to trace the movement of the dunes by recording the progress of the sand via a series of photo locations.
On the south side of the dunes, travel through coastal heath with ancient flora and if you’re lucky you might even catch the beautiful mass of wildflowers (September – November). On reaching the Great Southern Ocean you may wish to go for a short stroll.
Finally, we enjoy lunch or afternoon tea in a peaceful and natural bush setting before returning to civilisation.
