Quad bike the outback; travelling varied terrain and viewing abundant wildlife. The safaris take place on a unique private working cattle station, giving you first hand impressions of its vastness. You’ll ride over dry riverbeds, along bush tracks and pass along the majestic East MacDonnell Ranges.
Your quad bike adventure begins when your experienced tour guide picks you up from any accommodation, or airport, in Alice Springs.
You will then be taken out to Undoolya Station, just 20 minutes east of the town. Undoolya Station is the oldest working station in The Northern Territory and the buildings themselves are still lived in today. The current owners have lived at the station since 1907, the previous owners having built the property in 1872.
The Polaris 330 quad bikes are fully automatic and are extremely safe, an orientation of the bikes and introduction about the tour is provided. There is always only one person to each bike. The initial pace is slow to ensure everyone is comfortable with their quad bike and feels secure. The tour guide rides a two seat quad bike to take a passenger, should the need arise.
Photo opportunities occur regularly as the adventure passes towards the East MacDonnell Ranges, over dry riverbeds and around water holes. Kangaroos, dingoes and station cattle are seen regularly.
Our operators are the only tour operators on the station, and the unspoilt vastness is second to none.
After 2.5 hours of touring and adventure over some 40km of True Outback, the tour returns to Undoolya Station and everyone loves the after tour dusty face photos.
Transfer back to town completes the 3.5 hour adventure.
Please note: This experience will not be available in February

Guidelines:
No experience necessary. Children from the age of 12 years can participate on any tour. 12 to 17 year olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Numbers:
Up to 10 people in any one group. The minimum number required is one. The adventures run daily all year, except Christmas Day. From May till Sept they depart at 8am & 2pm, and from Oct till April they depart at 7am & 2pm. Winter dates can be particularly busy and should be booked a month in advance.
Spectators:
Because the adventure travels out 40 km from Undoolya Station, unfortunately there is no way for spectators to participate.
Weather:
Central Australia experiences dry cold winters and dry hot summers. The quad adventures are rarely subjected to rain, which does not affect the fun of the tour, but if the rivers overflow then access to Undoolya Station will be cut off.
Other Info:
For corporate groups larger than 10, the tour can be organised to incorporate a shorter adventure and drinks or pre-organised buffets or barbeques at The Station.
