Experience an exhilarating driving event where you get to drive a V8 race car on a high-speed Clubman circuit configuration at QLD Raceway. For 5 amazing laps, you’ll be coached through the course to improve your lap times and experience life as a V8 race driver.
Your V8 drive day begins as you register at reception before heading down to see pit lane. At this point, you can also choose to purchase an in-car video / DVD prior to your drive to record every memorable in-car V8 driving moment (additional cost payable directly to the supplier on the day). Feel free to watch the action on the circuit before being called to the driver’s briefing.
The driver’s briefing ís delivered in an air-conditioned room by an experienced V8 race driver who knows the race track intimately. The briefing will prepare you for driving one of our race prepared Holden or Ford V8 race cars.
After the briefing, we head to pit lane, where you’ll be fitted with a race suit and helmet. After you’re completely kitted up in the race gear, you’ll have your photo taken with one of the V8’s prior to your drive. At this point you can also choose a Holden or Ford – a very easy choice for most motoring enthusiasts!
When it’s your turn to be the driver, we’ll strap you behind the wheel of the V8, introduce you to your personal in-car coach and before long you’ll be burning rubber out of pit lane for the drive of a lifetime!
Your coach will show you the fastest way around the track, showing you how to drive the best you possibly can and helping you to improve lap times and cornering techniques. You’ll be treated to 5 self-drive laps around the circuit and we guarantee the thrill of the race will certainly be in your veins! After completing your 5 laps, you can collect your laminated photo certificate to prove that you really were a V8 race car driver!
A DVD of your drive is available for an additional $45, payable directly to the supplier.
This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
Venue:
Willowbank, Queensland - approximately 45 minutes west of Brisbane.
Session Length
Please allow at least 2 hours for the entire experience, including your driver briefing and self-drive in the V8. Race days are held throughout the year on both weekdays and weekends on set race dates throughout the year.

Guidelines:
To drive, you must hold at least a manual P-Plate license. The maximum driver height and weight is 195cm and 120kg. Drivers should be in good physical condition with no heart problems or breathing difficulties. If you are unsure about your suitability – please contact us.
Numbers:
The price quoted is for one person. There will be about 20 – 25 people in the drivers briefing. The actual drive experience is one-on-one with a coach connected to you via an intercom system similar to those that you see in international rallies.
Spectators:
Spectator entry is FREE and drivers are encouraged to bring along as many family and friends as they wish. Depending on numbers some spectators are allowed to participate in the briefing.
Weather:
The drive may be interrupted or cancelled due to inclement weather as driving at high speed on a wet track can be dangerous. Please contact the supplier to confirm the status of the day. In the case of your drive being cancelled due to weather, we will reschedule your experience for a later date.
Other Info:
You will be required to sign an indemnity form prior to participating in the experience. Your experience includes 5 laps around the circuit.

This was a gift to my 20 year old son who loved it. The staff and the instructor were fabulous, my son felt so comfortable with the instructor. Sadly this was such a great experience he can't wait to get his open licence. Overall, I think the best gift I have invested in for a long time.

It was absolutely awesome i will have to save my pennies and go again next time I will be going for more laps at 5 laps you are just starting to get into the swing of things my instructor Adam was absolutely fantastic can you supply my thanks once again to him from me for making my day one hella of a ride.

Had a great day, I wish I had bought more laps. The instructor was really good, great instructions and could hear him fine. I felt safe in the car and was given every opportunity to drive fast. He told me to drive the car 'like it was stolen"...got to love that. Had a great day, well planned and I'm going to try to get my boss to have their work xmas function there.

The entire day was spectacular. It met and exceeded my expectations. My daughter in law organised it for me, and her feedback she had given me was that it was easy to arrange and to book. The drive was great, the instructor was good and the day was well organised and ran smoothly. Awesome experience had by my son and I. We are planning on going again before xmas this year. Great day and had loads of fun, thumbs up for RedBalloon and the V8 experience people.

It was amazing. My only regret was that I only had 5 laps - the lap record would have been threatened if I had 8 laps!!!!! The coach was terrific - very calm and precise and obviously keen for me to enjoy the experience.

Extremely well organised for drivers and friends, friends could watch the experience, good visibility so good for photos. All staff were friendly, courteous and helpful, the instructor made the drive awesome. I'd love to do it all again.

I bought 2 vouchers, one for my partner, the other for my daughter's boyfriend. They had an absolute ball and they were so hyped up afterwards, that's all they talked about on the way home and then couldn't wait to watch their DVD's. They both said they would love to do it again. Holdens verses Fords, it was a great way to spend the day.

The whole experience was absolutely fantastic and at 61 is something that I have been able to tick off my "bucket list" and I will be back.

Excellent day out. All of the staff were very pleasant and the instructor was very professional, one minor thing though, perhaps a better camera for the picture and certificate as the resolution was very low and the picture grainy. This did not detract from a fantastic experience.

Great experience, but seemed to be a little bit disorganised around the office/suiting up area. Attendants were great, they made up for it and were very helpful & courteous.

I had a great morning in the V8 Holden! Everyone from the reception staff to the car crew were friendly and really made you feel welcome. I would happily do it again and yes, I was thankful that I had decided to wear the 'brown' undies that morning!

I received the experience of the V8 race card drive day - 5 laps as a birthday present and it was the best birthday present I have ever received. I have always been a fan of car racing but to drive one and feel how it gripped the road and how fantastic the brakes were was a real insight into the sport. The people who organised the day were great and friendly. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who loves to drive. It was extremely simple to book through RedBalloon - no hassles at all.
