Experience the awesome Yak 52, a genuine Russian military aircraft with its incredible aerobatic flight capability. Turn Melbourne’s skyline upside down as you fly inverted at 430km/h or just sit back and feel the powerful supercharged radial engine as you cruise around with the canopy open.
You should plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your arranged departure time, so that you can be briefed on the safety features of the aircraft. You will be shown how to use the intercom system and your safety harness will be fitted for you.
Your pilot will brief you on what the flight profile will be. At this point, you can indicate to the pilot what level of aerobatics you desire and any places of interest you may wish to fly over. Photographic opportunities are available before and after you board the aircraft.
You can expect 45 minutes in the aircraft, during which you will be sitting in the back seat of the plane, behind your pilot.
The Yak 52 is stressed to +7/-5 G and capable of speeds of up to 430 km/h. With a roll rate in excess of 120 degrees per second and its impressive vertical performance the aircraft effortlessly completes advanced aerobatic manoeuvres. The Yak 52 is equally at home completing gentle turns and dives with the canopy open for a more leisurely flight. The level of intensity is completely up to you!
Please note: You (and any spectators that are over 14 years of age) MUST have photo ID to enter the airfield on the day.
