30 Minute Tiger Moth Scenic Flight
Nothing compares with the thrill of flying in an open cockpit Tiger Moth. Relax and enjoy the romance of flying in a true lady of the sky.
A spectacular flight along the coast taking in breathtaking views of Perth’s beautiful beaches – in a word FANTASTIC!
On arrival your pilot will give you a brief history of this fabulous vintage machine. Following this you will have a safety brief and be strapped into the cockpit complete with leather helmet and goggles! You will be sitting in the front seat of the aircraft and your pilot will be sitting behind you. At this point it is time to relax as you are ready for take off!
Leaving Jandakot you will head out to Fremantle then meander up the coast, taking in the sites and enjoying the unique experience of having the wind in your hair at 1500 feet.
Arriving back at Jandakot you will be presented with your certificate of membership to the exclusive Tiger Club as one of the few people who have flown in this amazing old lady of the sky.
This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.
Venue:
Jandakot Airport is 15km south of Perth City, Western Australia.
Session Length
Allow approximately 45 minutes: includes a 15 min pre-flight briefing. Actual experience time is 30 minutes (engine start to engine stop). We are open 7 days per week from 8:00am to 5:00pm. (closed Christmas and Boxing Day, Good Friday and New Years).
Guidelines:
There is a minimum age of 13 years for all participants and a maximum weight of 100kg. A camera is ok but please bring a strap to attach it to your wrist.
Numbers:
You will be one on one with your instructor.
Spectators:
Friends and family are welcome – An observation deck and viewing café / restaurant area allow friends and family to relax while you fly.
Weather:
Weather restrictions apply. We will not fly in the event of rain, low cloud or strong winds. It is advised that you call the day of the flight to check conditions. On the day, should the flight not be possible, we will reschedule your booking for a later date.

Bookings cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or with no notice at all, will be forfeited
Suitability Information:
There is wheel chair access to both the club and the café upstairs for spectators. This experience may be suitable for people with a sensory impairment. Please contact the club for details.

The experience was amazing. It was my first time in an open cockpit and it was very noisy, very windy and very enjoyable. The flight was forty minutes late because of a fuel tanker glitch but other than that it was a very memorable birthday present. Next time I'll go aerobatic for that bit extra. Thanks to everyone, especially pilot Brent Luecke.

The flight experience was all good. My pilot was excellent (thanks). I am the type of person who would have enjoyed more info on the build of the aircraft and the history of the use of this particular airplane, but thats not a criticism as i totally enjoyed myself.

Whilst the experience was very worthwhile it would have been even more so had the Pilot spent some time pre flight describing some of the history and name of the Aircraft. I had to ask the Pilot about the aircraft whilst leaving the tarmac for the reception area. The time from start up to stand still appeared to be well short of a full half an hour.

This was a Christmas Present for my husband and he loved every minute of it, so much so he bought the DVD! He's now looking forward to his V8 experience also compliments of Red Balloon and his 'stress free present buying' wife!

I must admit that I didn't really know what to expect from this adventure. I like the thrill of flying and there was a certain amount of nostalgia as my Uncle trained in the Tiger Moth before World War II. I can only say that the experience proved to be a great thrill as I visited an era in flying that is so different from what we have today. I had every confidence in the flying instructor as he gave me a grand tour of the beaches of Perth and Fremantle

I booked the flight for my husband as a 50th surprise birthday gift. He loved the flight so much, saying that he would certainly want to fly in a tiger moth again. The pilot was very informative, efficient and friendly, and the whole experience was absolutely fantastic. It was a pleasure to book with such ease and to have the flight go so smoothly. I'm not sure how we'll top this experience but will have to give everyone in the family a go after this. Thanks!
