Aerobatic flying in our aircraft with our pilots is exciting enough but throw in formation flying only feet apart and it goes off the chart! Take off in close formation, fly out over the beach before breaking and heading off to experience thrilling aerobatic sequences.

Main Description

This package for two starts after arrival at Southern Biplanes HQ where you and your friend or partner will be kitted out with flying suits and briefed. Then one will be loaded aboard the Boeing Stearman and the other aboard our Pitts Special.

You will then both start and taxi in formation and, perform an echelon formation take off only feet apart. On transit to the aerobatic area the two aircraft will fly close formation while performing station changes. You will be able to wave to one and other and see the looks on each other’s faces!

Now for the aerobatics… You will break formation and conduct aerobatics manoeuvres as the pilots demonstrate the full capabilities of the aircraft. Some of the figures your pilots will put you through include loops, rolls, hammerheads, snap rolls, spins and many more! On completion of the aerobatics you will rejoin for the return to base in formation.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Venue:

Illawarra Regional Airport. 90 minutes drive south of Sydney Airport.

Session Length

25 to 30 minutes total flight experience, Available 7 days a week.

Guidelines:

Min age is 13. Max height is 200cm. Max weight for Pitts Special 90kg and 130kg for the Boeing Stearman. Passengers need to be reasonably mobile, please declare any health issues. We cannot carry persons affected by drugs or alcohol.

Numbers:

You will be one on one with the instructor.

Spectators:

Family and friends can watch the flight preparations and take photos of the aircraft on the ground before and after the flight. Take off and landing can be viewed from the terminal café/restaurant, or from various points outside of the fenced areas.

Weather:

In the event of poor weather conditions the flight will be rescheduled.
