Enjoy a half day Scenic Flight and Speed Boat Trip to enjoy Tasmania's South West World Heritage National Park. There are no roads, no people. See spectacular scenery from mountain ranges to the stunning coastline and cruise Bathurst Harbour to see its 800m mountains rising from the sea!

This tour commences with a scenic flight in a light aircraft over the city of Hobart and the Huon Valley before entering the South West World Heritage area. The flight path takes you past Federation Peak and the Western Arthur Range before landing at Melaleuca, deep in the heart of South West Tasmania.

During your time in this wilderness area, we will take you in a speed boat to the marine reserve of Bathurst Harbour, a waterway bigger than Sydney Harbour. You will witness the majesty of this pristine and wild place and breathe some of the cleanest air in the world. There is also an opportunity to see the rare and endangered Orange Bellied Parrots and visit the home and garden of South West legend the late Deny King.

Your return flight is via the rugged South coast with its many isolated beaches and bays with rainforest and mountain ranges spilling into the Great Southern Ocean. Your flight home will also allow you to see Precipitous Bluff, the Ironbound Range and the most Southern Point in Australia, South East Cape, before flying past Bruny Island and back to Hobart.

This experience departs from Hobart, Tasmania.

Session Length

We depart daily at 9am and 1.30pm. Tours are approximately 4 hours in duration. The duration of your flight will be approximately 50 minutes each way and your boat ride will be 60 minutes.

Guidelines:

Depending on the size of the group, the aircraft will be either a 9, 5 or 3 seater light airplane. For larger groups, we can use all 3 aircraft. The cruise takes place on a speed boat.

Numbers:

There will be a maximum of 20 people doing this experience.

Weather:

In the case of poor weather, we will endeavour to reschedule the experience for a later date. Bookings should be made allowing time to reschedule if necessary. If traveling from interstate, we recommend booking early into your stay in Hobart.

    10/10 all great pilots fantastic best value adventure money could buy Incredible scenery definately makes the Top 100 List of things to do before you die It will challenge all your senses hold your on to your seat for the ride of a lifetime to another world

    The experience was simply fantastic thank you. The pilot was excellent also as a guide and speedboat captain. He clearly knew and cared for the south west wilderness a great deal and it showed. The trip could not have been better unless we had booked a longer version. Thank you very much

    Far exceeded our expectations, good pilot who was very interesting, informative and friendly. Fantastic views, lunch and morning tea provided which we didn't expect. This was a gift from our children and we were a little apprehensive about flying in a small plane but need not have been. A wonderful experience which we would recommend to anyone who wants something a little different
