Experience an exceptional 8 day guided short trek in the rarely visited Djebel Sarho on the edge of the Sahara Desert in Morocco. Enjoy the diverse landscapes and experience the generosity and hospitality of the nomadic Ait Atta people of the Djebel Sarho as you trek through Morocco!

One of Morocco’s greatest secrets, the Djebel Sarho is an almost mythical range squeezed in the wilderness between the high Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. It’s a wild landscape of flat top mesas and volcanic pinnacles softened by the palm and almond groves of the fertile oasis. Like the landscape, the nomadic Ait Atta peoples of the Djebel Sarho are both hardy and generous, their legendary hospitality ensuring an unforgettable Moroccan trekking experience. We travel with a mule caravan, with our camp transported in the centuries old traditions of North Africa.

During the trek, you can expect to follow the following itinerary:

  • Day 1 – Arrive in Marrakesh,
  • Day 2 – Travel to Ouarzazate and Tagdilt,
  • Day 3 to 6 – Trek the Djebel Sarho,
  • Day 7 – Return to Marrakesh,
  • Day 8 – Trip concludes in Marrakesh.

The 8 day trip includes a 4 day trek around the Djebel Sarho, 7 breakfasts, 6 lunches and 5 dinners, 2 nights in a 2 star hotel in Marrakesh, 4 nights camping, 1 night village stay, private transport, all camping and village stays during the trek, an experienced English speaking guide and the services of muleteers and trekking crew.
