Join The Southern Spirit in the sophisticated southern city of Melbourne for a leisurely journey days to the final destination in sub-tropical Brisbane. The journey in reverse is equally impressive, travelling for 5 days and 4 nights.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Venue:

The Southern Spirit departs from Roma Street Station in the centre of Brisbane, and arrives at Melbourne Southern Cross Station, on the corner of Collins and Spencer Street, Melbourne, Victoria.

Session Length

This experience runs for 5 days and 4 nights.

Guidelines:

Participants must be fit for travel, if you have a medical condition or injury travel insurance is advised. Gold Service Cabins have upper berths which require access via a ladder. No single cabins available. Those with movement impairments are required to travel with a carer.

Numbers:

Independent touring, however many other guests will be onboard the service at the same time. The Southern Spirit departs on selected departure dates in Nov 2011, Feb - Mar, May - Jun, Oct - Nov 2012 and Feb - Mar 2013. Please contact us to enquire regarding available departure dates.

Spectators:

Not suitable for spectators, only the option to wave goodbye to the guests from the departing train platform.

Weather:

In the case of extreme weather floods which prevented the train travelling we would advise guests as soon as the information was advised to Great Southern Rail, normally 24-48 hour prior, a choice of alternative arrangements will be advised.

Other Info:

Guests are permitted two bags per person of no more than 20kg per bag. One cabin bag per person is required for overnight requirements. Please arrive at the station one hour prior to departure with your booking confirmation number.

Suitability Information:

There is a special disabled carriage for guests in wheelchairs, however we do require the guest to use an onboard wheelchair during the journey and store their own wheelchair for use when leaving the train.
