Enjoy a relaxing two days walking in the great outdoors, as you and your partner take in the breathtaking scenery along the Mornington Peninsula. Retire in the evening to unique accommodation at the Cape Schank Light-station and revel in spectacular views overlooking the ocean!

Your guide will meet you and your partner at 10am on the day of your tour.

Day one offers spectacular views of Port Phillip Bay's beautiful blue water and sand bars with the tall buildings of Melbourne on the horizon. This walk begins at the base of Arthur's Seat. Enjoy a coffee at Arthur's Restaurant before heading off on the gently undulating track with areas of boardwalks, bridges and steps. As the walk progresses, you and your partner will see views across to Bass Strait, fascinating birds and varied vegetation. A lunch pack is provided.

At the end of day one, we arrange transport to take you back to the meeting place. You then drive to your accommodation at the Cape Schanck Light-station. Expect to walk approximately 14 kilometres on day one of the tour.

On site accommodation is available for up to 22 people in four cottages, which were formally home to resident lighthouse keepers. The oldest cottage has been fully restored and the historic living quarters returned to their original heritage look, complete with fireplace and the romantic inspectors room with ensuite facilities. The other two cottages have similar facilities, including kitchens and lounge rooms. You and your partner will also receive a continental breakfast, to help you power through day two's walk.

For dinner you might drive 10 minutes to Flinders, where there is a pub and other eating places. RACV Cape Schanck, which is 5 mins drive away, has a dining room with a full a la carte menu.

On day two, we meet at Cape Schanck car park and drive to Baldry Crossing, where the 14 km walk begins. The walk follows Main Creek through Greens Bush down to the beach at Bushrangers Bay and finishes at Cape Schanck. Fauna frequently seen include Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Black Wallabies, Echidnas, Koalas, Blue tongue lizards, Eastern and Crimson Rosellas Kookaburras and Superb Fairy-Wrens. A lunch pack is also provided. Your guide will drive you back to your car at the end of the day.

Session Length

This walk operates throughout the year on demand. Please book at least two weeks in advance. Bookings are subject to availability. The walk starts at 10am each morning and you can expect to walk between 5 to 6 hours each day.

Guidelines:

This is a moderate grade walk, so you will require a good general fitness level. You must be able to walk for 6 hours each day.

Numbers:

This is a personalised walk and you and your partner will usually be the only people on the tour. We operate with a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 14 people.
