Take an exhilarating and informative walk through the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. Enjoy breath-taking views of Bass Straight, Port Phillip Bay and discover a diverse range of landscapes. Delight in identifying numerous species of birds and wildlife with professional walkers.

You have a choice of three short walks as listed below. Personalised walks can be made to suit your requirements. The sequence and number of days for your walking holiday is flexible.

CLIFF VIEW CIRCUIT – Start at Portsea and finish at Sorrento passing cliff top mansions with stunning views of the bay. Return by bus to Portsea (6 kms).

HINTERLAND WINERY EXPLORER – Walk from Merricks to Paringa Winery for a beautiful lunch. We finish our day by returning to Stonier Winery by taxi. (7 kms). Lunch is at own expense.

HISTORICAL SITES AND SANDHILLS – Walk starts at Sorrento going along cliff top tracks overlooking the ocean and rock pools. Pass Diamond Bay then stop at Mount St.Paul and return to Sorrento via historical sites. (8.5kms)

Session Length

The walking tours run 7 days a week, year round, except for the month of August. The short walks take from 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 hours however, you do need to allow more time when staying at a winery for lunch.

Guidelines:

You need to be reasonably fit to comfortably walk the 6 to 8 kms required a day. The level of walk is easy to moderate.

Numbers:

Minimum of two people up to a group of 14 people. In most cases your group will be the soul participants. Bookings for a single taken for Thursday or Sunday only.

Weather:

If there is doubt as to the suitability of the weather i.e. there are storms or continuous rain you should be in touch with us and if necessary another time can be arranged for your walk.

Other Info:

If accommodation is required, own arrangements will need to be made. We suggest the Sorrento, Blairgowrie or Rye areas. Mornington Peninsula Information Centre can advise and book accommodation for you call 1800 804 009. Lunches and taxi fares are included unless other wise stated.
