This Aboriginal Blue Mountains Walkabout Tour has been awarded Australia's best walking experience. It will enrich your life with ancient wisdom, and give you a deep connection to our country and culture. Welcome to the Aboriginal dreamtime: and live for a day our happy, creative and spiritual life.

Join us for an Aboriginal walkabout tour in the Blue Mountains and experience an inspiring ancient quest. This experience is a mesmerising initiation into our Aboriginal culture and the wild Australian bush.

Your guide, Evan, is an Aboriginal person born on Darug land and since he could walk Evan has studied Indigenous culture out in the bush - rediscovering, recording and understanding cultural sites. He is able to share with you a very local and intimate understanding of our land and culture.

Evan will help you to explore a lost world of amazing Aboriginal sites and as you enter the Aboriginal dreamtime, you’ll gain a special understanding of the local Darug culture by actually experiencing what life used to be like. Whilst on this challenging 7km walk, you’ll be privy to secret places and hidden wonders that you will not see on any other walk or tour. Witness ancient art, ceremonial sites, artefacts and hear the stories of the dreamtime. Along the way, you’ll also experience ochre bark and body painting, bush tucker tasting and when the weather is right, you can even bathe in a crystal clear billabong.

Discover the real Blue Mountains, not from a busy lookout but from the inside out! Venture off track to feel the freedom of endless wilderness and we’re sure that this walkabout will stimulate your senses, enrich your spirit and give you a timeless connection to our sacred land!

This experience voucher is valid for six months from date of purchase.

I was totally blown away by this experience. At the beginning of the walk I was lumbering through the bush, feeling clumsy and making lots of noise, but by the end of the day I was walking gently upon the earth, and feeling a beautiful connection to the natural wonders around me. Evan spoke so knowledgeably about the ancient wisdom of the Darug people, and how they lived a simple, but incredibly meaningful life in the bush. We weren't sure what to expect but the tour was amazing. Probably the best thing we've done in a long time.

It was a wonderful day. We were a bit cautious on the morning of our walkabout tour as it had been raining heavily all week and overnight but we headed off and I'm so glad we did! Evan our tour guide and instructor was excellent; very accommodating and very informative. There were 10 people in our group; three from the US, one from Italy , one from UK, one from Canada and four from Australia, ranging in age from 20 years old to 70, so it was a very mixed but interesting group which added to the...

A great experience to find out more about the traditions of Aboriginal customs and way of life. I found the walk challenging at my age (71), but I completely enjoyed the walk and this challenge of which I will remember for the rest of my life.

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Aboriginal culture and Evan was excellent in explaining dreamtime stories, drawings, paintings, carvings etc...... It was the first time I had seen a Billabong - very beautiful. It was excellent to walk through the bush over the main walks / tracks and get a real feel of the bush.

Overall, the day was definitely an amazing "experience" - the word gift just doesn't do it justice.

The walkabout tour was amazing, Evan is a fantastic guide, showing us genuine Aboriginal culture. The group was great fun, the track just stunning. A moderate level of fitness is definitely recommended because it does involve some scrabbling and steep rock climbs. I would highly recommend this walkabout, and Red Balloon, to everyone!

I found the experience to be an interesting insight into the basic beliefs of the Australian Aboriginal. The experience was also an opportunity to see parts of the Blue Mountains that are not easily accessible, we ventured of the regular walking tracks and I am sure that we visited sites that are rarely seen by non-aboriginals.
