Imagine gliding gently through the lush surroundings of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s natural coastal rainforest and eucalyptus filled environment on a one hour Segway Safari. Well, your dream is about to become a reality! Each Segway Safari takes in wildlife displays and experiences along the way.
Visitors begin with the 10-minute Eco Fun Experience to learn how to ride the Segways, which have an intuitive steering system which simply goes in whatever direction you lean. Then to take a fully guided tour of the Sanctuary's vast bushland and rainforest habitats, visitors can upgrade to the one hour, Segway Safari.

Venue:
The venue is a 5 minute drive north of Gold Coast Airport, a 10 minute drive north of Coolangatta, 40 minutes north of Byron Bay, and 25 minutes south of Surfers Paradise.
Session Length
Entry to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is available for up to 9 hours, and is open daily from 8am to 5pm. The sanctuary is closed on 25th December and opens after 1.30pm on 25th April. The Segway experience itself runs for one hour, between 9am and 4pm.
Guidelines:
The tours can be taken by anyone over 10 years old, over 45kg and under 120kg. For safety reasons tour participants aged between 10 - 17 years old need to be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian.
Numbers:
A minimum 1 and a maximum of 4 participants per tour. There is one guide per tour.
Spectators:
The initial 10 minutes training is visible but not after that the experience is not suitable for spectators.
Weather:
The experience still runs in bad weather, and in the event of wet weather ponchos are provided.

The Segway Safari is also the green way to go about seeing Currumbin - each Segway unit gives off zero emissions while operating, and runs on a highly efficient electric system. Segway Safari adds a new dimension to Currumbin's status as Advanced Eco-Tourism Certified attraction.

It was so easy to book and there were no hassles with our experience.

We had a great time. I was a bit scared, but the guide was really good and reassuring. He was quite knowledgable about the animals and knew most by name and they would come up to him. His initial session on making sure we were safe on the segway was also very good and safe. Really enjoyable experience.

A great fun and enjoyable experience , in fact i enjoyed it so much that i purchased another 50 minute experience for my wife and I an hour later on the same day.

I really enjoyed the Segway Safari, it was loads of fun zipping around the park on two wheels. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a huge place and by far the best way to see it is on the Segway tour. Thanks also go to our guide, who was very knowlegable about the animals and very helpful. I would highly recommend anyone of any age to try it - I am on the wrong side of 50 and the Segway made getting around all the exhibits a breeze!

My daughter isn't 45 kilos yet so we had to cancel the segway tour however we did get a 10 minute ride which was loads of fun. We spent most of our day on the green challenge which was tiring, scary and rewarding. I personally will most likely not do it again however am very happy I stepped out of my comfort zone and gave it a go.

Segway experience was fantastic! Amazing way to see an incredible zoo. The segway tour guide Peter was lovely and cheerful and we all had a brilliant time. Highly recommended for kids of all ages! The all inclusive entry and high ropes tour made the whole package a wonderful day out! The RedBalloon team also provided fantastic customer service checking that they could fit us before we booked to ensure a fun filled GoldCoast adventure.
