Tall Ship Sydney Harbour Cruise is sailing with a difference! Take a trip back in time and cruise Sydney Harbour in comfort and authentic tall ship sailing style. See some of Sydney's finest attractions and enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch. Your harbour cruise will see the hours simply sail away!
The tall ship is a magnificent square rigger built in 1922 that has three masts reaching over 24m high. This experience can be as interactive as you wish. If you’d like to heave on a rope and help set the sails, you can. Otherwise you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the entertainment provided by the crew, chef and the barman, all of whom are at your service.
The ship departs from the Sydney CBD and sails past many of Sydney Harbour’s best attractions. Cruise on past Sydney’s iconic landmarks - the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Fort Denison, Garden Island, Taronga Zoo, Luna Park and Admiralty House. We cruise up to Watsons Bay and return back to the harbour under sail.
For lunch on board the tall ship you will enjoy a delicious Aussie BBQ including seafood.
The vessel served as flagship of the Bicentennial First Fleet reenactment voyage from Plymouth, England in 1988 and is now the last of these heroic ships to remain on Sydney Harbour. 200 years ago, a timber sailing ship was the only way to discover Sydney Harbour. And it still is!
For those of you who are looking for some extra fun, selected Sundays and school holidays feature a special family pirate-themed event!
Activity Highlights:
- Photo opportunities of the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Taronga Zoo and Luna Park
- Learn about the history of Sydney Harbour and viewing from a waterfront perspective.
- Be part of the crew and help set the sails
- Opportunity to help the captain steer the ship (great photos!)
What's Included:
- 2 hours sailing Experience on a 1850’s style authentic Tall Ship
- Discover Sydney harbour in style!
- Delicious BBQ Lunch including seafood.
- Hands on sailing or simply sit back and relax

Was a beautiful day, glorious sunset on the harbour. Ship was full of charm, bbq was good. Champange at sunset under sail on a near 100 year old ship, just beautfiul.
-
Beautiful day, the crew were very helpful, friendly and informative. What could be better than being under sail on Sydney harbour.
-
Despite the rain, the outing was very very enjoyable despite the wet and cold weather. The crew and other passengers made the day.
-
The weather was dreadful but we still had a great day. The ship was very steady and safe and really interesting. Jess, our hostess, was courteous and professional and made sure that all our needs (staying dry, etc.) were covered. Lunch was very nice and there was plenty of food for all. We are planning to book another Tall Ship cruise in the future and hope to pick a sunny day next time.
-
It was not the brightest of days to go out on the Harbour. Imagine grey skies, rain falling and wet feet. This did not deter any of the 'would be' sailors and we trooped on board. The crew provided the sunshine in the day as they did all to make our trip enjoyable. Crew, food and company were all great. A fantastic experience!
-
I chose this BBQ lunch on the Southern Swan as a shared family Christmas present. Seeing that our children are now in their twenties and all very busy it was a great opportunity to spend time together doing something special that we would all remember. I wasn't disappointed.. We all had a lovely afternoon. There was plenty of well cooked and tasty food and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

My guests and I had a delightful day out on the harbour on your Tall Ship. Although the weather was a little chilly, it was fun being up on deck and looking out at the magnificent view of the city. We were pleased that you put the sails up and not just motored around.

The cruise was a day I will remember for some time - the crew were friendly and cheerful, and the food was tasty and plenty of it, though served a little later than I had expected - but that didn't spoil the the wonderful experience.

The crew were very cheerful and helpful making everyone feel welcome. Our day was enhanced by Sydney "putting on" a beautiful day.
