If you've always wanted to learn to surf like the pros then five surfing lessons in Byron Bay is a great way to start! The instructors at our surf school are dedicated to finding the best waves and providing you with a totally awesome surfing experience. Perfect for beginner to intermediate surfers!

This experience consists of five surfing lessons, which you can choose to or choose not to take on consecutive days. On each day we will meet you at our shop in Byron Bay or pick you up from your accommodation in the local area. We then take you to one of Byron's many local beaches for your surfing lesson!

Due to the constantly changing wind, swell and tides we choose to search for the best waves each day, just like real surfers! The beaches we surf at are a short drive from the hustle and bustle of the main area. We always opt for the less crowded beaches around Byron Bay and Lennox Head so you get the most out of your surfing lesson.

During your surfing lesson your instructor will be in the water with you, helping with correct paddling techniques, teaching you how to catch waves and how to turn, and talking about wave selection and understanding the elements of the ocean. We also teach surf safety and awareness. Our instructors go through thorough in-house performance assessment and training sessions on a regular basis and are hand-picked for their passion and enthusiasm for surfing. Great instructors make a world of difference!

On the first day of your surfing lesson you will get a taste of what it's like to live the life of a surfer as we cruise around in search of pristine, uncrowded beaches! Once we have found the perfect location you will learn to surf or improve your surfing technique on fun, easy waves.

On the second day you will get a little more serious about your surfing. On this day you will practice the skills you gathered on the first day, aiming to learn faster and surf for longer.

The third day will see you practicing to make perfect! Three surfing lessons are a must for guys or girls who want to keep surfing and get good at it!

On days four and five you will find yourself improving on every wave - learning turning techniques, improving your timing and getting more speed!

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Byron Bay, NSW.

Session Length

We operate seven days a week, all year round, excluding Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Lessons usually take place from 8am - 12pm and from 1pm - 5pm during the high season and from 12noon - 4pm during the low season. You get five surfing lessons, which don't have to be taken on consecutive days.

Guidelines:

Participants must be able to swim at least 50m unassisted. Surfing lessons are suitable for beginner to intermediate surfers.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. There will be a maximum of 14 people in the group with a ratio of seven students to one instructor.

Spectators:

Spectators are welcome! They may come along in our mini surf bus if there is room or drive themselves to the location.

Weather:

This experience may be affected by the weather. In the case of extreme weather conditions or very big waves we may reschedule your experience for a later date.

Other Info:

You need to sign a waiver prior to participating in this experience. Wetsuits and rash guards will be provided, as will surfboards. We have easy-to-ride learner boards available for beginners.
