Kakadu's scenic specialists have designed this one-day tour to show off the best of Kakadu by way of scenic flights to and from Kakadu, a Yellow Water Cruise and a visit to Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre with park entry fees included.
Dual-listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for its outstanding natural and cultural values, no trip to the Northern Territory is complete without a visit to the iconic Kakadu National Park. Your Kakadu in a Day tour begins with a spectacular 90-minute scenic flight complete with informative commentary from your expert pilot. Your flight will track over the Adelaide River, Mary River National Park and Kakadu’s winding South and East Alligator rivers where you will witness the coastal mangroves holding back massive floodplains that reveal the Arnhem Land Plateau. Up next is your Yellow Water billabong cruise where you will have a chance to sit back, relax and take in the rich flora and fauna and changing landscape of the wetlands.
A pleasant lunch at Barra Bar and Bistro gives you a chance to refuel before you head on over to the Warradjan Cultural Centre where you will be able to absorb personal histories, videos and artifacts that illustrate stories the traditional owners want to share. The Cultural Centre was developed by the Aboriginal traditional owners of Kakadu and features a gallery gift shop offering traditional didgeridoos, local artwork and much more if you would like to take a souvenir representing your journey. A 45-minute ferry flight will see you back in Darwin by approximately four pm, ideal for anyone wanting to take in some late afternoon and evening activities.
